The Sewer Collection division's responsibilities include:

• Maintain and make repairs to approximately 539 miles of sewer mains, manholes, and clean outs
• Infiltration and inflow program
• Construction of new sewer lines as needed
• Helping to clean the sewer system
• Helping to prevent back-ups
• Cleaning, maintaining and mowing our right-of-ways and easements
• Assisting other divisions, such as Engineering, with the smoke and TV/Video programs to locate areas of concern
• Expanding the sewer system
• Updating record-keeping with the use of computer and data retrieval

Focus:

• Providing a safe and sanitary sewer collection system
• Locating and repairing points of infiltration and inflow in order to assist the Wastewater Plants in retaining their permitted status
• Assisting the Engineering department in upgrading record-keeping for GIS mapping program and maintaining right-of-ways for accessibility and providing longevity of existing lines
